It is perhaps fitting that this most tortured of torch songs, which was never in a movie, noir or not, should open this album.  For me, it is the unofficial anthem of all femmes fatales, summing up a tragic existence, tear-streaked with bleak optimism in a few desperate verses and I hereby make no apology for including it.
